Black Emperor’s album, I found myself touched and inspired to write something down. This is neither a technical review nor an opinion piece, but here’s my 2 cents on the album. Side note: if you’re into post-rock and ambient music and are not afraid of long ass songs, definetely go check them out....
è stato… okay? Visivamente un gioiello di una delicatezza unica, per il resto abbastanza underwhelming. Per essere un film che fa della musica e dei colori la sua cifra, avrebbero potuto fare molto di più: più dinamico e simbolico nell’uso dei colori, un’attenzione maggiore alla musica (processo creativo meno romanticizzato forse chiedo troppo, ma per quello è in buona compagnia), ironicamente koe no katachi - capolavoro di yamada che forse mi ha alzato troppo le aspettative - faceva scelte molto più coraggiose e accurate nelle colonne sonore, dedicandogli in qualche modo anche più spazio con scene più significative e non solo accavallate nel finale....
Le tastiere meccaniche penso siano l’hobby che ho più difficoltà a spiegare e far immaginare alle persone come cosa interessante: la maggior parte delle persone che hanno un qualche tipo di familiarità, attraverso instagram o esperienze personali con l’hobby, tipicamente la hanno attraverso il gaming o i video ASMR. Chiaramente non è un’idea intrinsecamente sbagliata, ma capisco come possa non risultare troppo interessante in quest’ottica, anche se è estremamente personale...
In the last few days, I finally committed to watching Fleabag, a very short comedy-drama show written (and interpreted) by the brilliant English actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The show is incredibly witty yet profound, and I encourage anyone reading this to give it a shot if they haven’t already. Obviously, there’s a lot I could say about it, but I’m not going to make an in-depth review. Instead, I’ll talk only about a specific aspect....
